You spike with shadow strike and follow up with vamp gaze, maintain awaken the blood throughout the battles. QZ means faster spikes, and causes problems for opposition, while Soul Reaping means you can keep your energy up. Use the 3 seconds between spiking to heal somebody or use a heal party, if you're killing people energy is not an issue.

if hes running martyr i would suggest instead of maybe heal other to throw in purge conditions. if u know what i mean lol. other than that very nice made me think of a few mods to the basic necro spike myself

I dunno I must say Im not fond of Blood Spike in general and although BR are very good they are very susceptible to even one mesmer with cry of frustration.
Last time I played em about a month back with a Rainbow spike we walked all over them with it.
That and situational awarness, I ran right around behind them got the relic and got 3/4 of the way back before they even realised, this is a problem with all spike builds and the reason why we won that match. Thats why Rainbow spike does so well when co-ordinated its adaptable. and hard to block with all the different types

If Awaken the Blood is a wasted slot as you say, what would you suggest to replace it to make the build more effective?
You've got a point on the Spirit Spammer, as it'll make it more viable in holding, though QZ is the main "money" spirit. At any rate, the attributes have been fixed to be more balanced to get more mileage.
If you're going to make derisive comments on a build, suggest what you can do to improve it rather than just say "this is bad" and provide no reasoning or alternatives. You'll get much farther.

its not as powerful as shadow strike, and has a longer cast time than vamp gaze.. oh and longer recharge too. it's a good skill, but not for spiking

Easiest way to beat blood spike is shuting down the spirit spammer. And this spirit spammer can be shut down with 1 skill... Savage Shot.

I dont like necro spike teams and I dont really wanna help them do even better than they already do
But.. Whirling on Trapper, maybe a balanced stance/dolyak Signet too
Rest of the build is pretty standard and will do fine.

If they're so hard as you purport, wouldn't it be in the best interest of Tombs to make them more viable for better competition? Thus, it makes sense to help out the build and the community. There's no point to hiding builds. It just slows down the process of learning for newer players. The players who can truly destroy you with a given build have already seen it before, so there's no real point in hiding anything.

Trapper? I think you mean spirit spammer.
The thing about that is that he only needs to be within radar range of his team to do his job, moving forward occasionally seconds to Oath shot. Admittedly positioning isn't such a huge deal in tombs, but it makes it easier for your necros to spike anyone giving the ranger a problem if they have to push right up through them.

I know, i'm saying its not good for spiking as after the SS + VG, if theyre not already dead theyre gonna be healed in the 2 sec casting time for barbed sig. If people are persistantly surviving the spikes, dark pact would be a better choice to finish it off
